About Us

Welcome!

Cub Scouts is open to boys in 1st through 5th grades. Although most boys live in Allentown, Upper Freehold, Cream Ridge and Hamilton anyone can join Pack 180. We have a great group of boys and families. New Scouts are always welcome! New members can come to any meeting. Our Pack is sponsored by the Allentown United Methodist Church.

Our Scouts have many opportunities to learn new skills and participate in new activities each month. Cub Scouting centers around 12 Core Values:
1-Cooperation
2-Responsibility
3-Citizenship
4-Respect
5-Positive Attitude
6-Resourcefulness
7-Compassion
8-Faith
9-Health and Fitness
10-Perseverance
11-Courage
12- Honesty.

It is our goal to provide a variety of opportunities year round to teach and reinforce these Core Values while having lots of FUN!!!

The Pack meets once per month at the Newell Elementary School Auditorium on Fridays (see the Pack calendar for details). This meeting is for all age groups/ranks. The Scouts are presented with the awards they have earned during the previous month at these meetings.

The Pack is divided into Dens based on grade level. There is a Tiger Den for first graders, a Wolf Dens for second graders, a Bear Dens for third graders, a Webelos I Den for fourth graders, and two Webelos II Dens for fifth  graders. The Tiger Dens for first graders are usually formed by the October Pack Meeting. The Dens set their own schedules and it varies. Typically they meet 1-3x per month depending in the activities they are working on. Many of the Scouts have other activities so each Den Leader does his/her best to accommodate everyone.

It is within these Dens that boys earn their rank awards of Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and WEBELOS before finally crossing over to Boy Scouts in the middle of 5th grade. Boys form special friendships within these Dens and our Pack as do the parents. Our Pack is 100% volunteer run and we encourage all parents to "Get Involved" it is such a rewarding feeling to know that YOU were part of your Scout's advancement and creating fun memories that will last a lifetime.

Thanks so much for visiting our site and if you have any questions please click on the "Contact Us" section and one of our Pack leaders will get back to you as soon as possible.
